HOURS, SESSIONS & FEES
We are open during term time for the following sessions:
Open: Monday – Friday
Wraparound Care (Breakfast Club): 8am-9am
Early Start Session: 8.35am-9am
AM Session: 9am-12pm
Lunch Session: 12-1pm (please provide your child with a packed lunch)
PM Session: 1pm-3pm
Each session allows children to choose from a range of small and large group activities, both indoors and outdoors.
Parking at South Moreton can be challenging at drop off and pick up times so please allow yourself time when dropping off and collecting your child.
Please be prompt at drop off and collection times as times are noted on our register.
Fees from 1st September 2024:
3 years+ : £7.00 per hour (the term after the child’s 3rd birthday)
2-3 years: £7.00 per hour
Wraparound Care (Breakfast Club): £8.00 per session, booked and paid for in advance or £8.30 for an agreed ad-hoc session
Early Start Session: £4.00 per session, booked and paid for in advance or £4.30 for an agreed ad-hoc session
Please note that Breakfast Club or Early Start Session is not covered by the universal 15 hour funding.
We accept Government funding for 2, 3 & 4 year-olds. Fees are charged if your child attends for more than the funded sessions. We also accept Childcare Vouchers (please refer to the funding section below).
Registration Fee
To register for a place at our Pre-School there is a fee of £25 to be held by us. Payment can be made to Account Name: South Moreton Preschool, Account No. 70694290, Sort Code 20-01-09.
- This amount will be refunded to you on your final invoice, once you start at our preschool.
- This amount will be refunded if we are unable to offer you a place.
- This amount will not be refunded if you are offered a place but decide not take up your place at our preschool.

Terms & Funding Calendar
We run on 6 academic terms per calendar year, Terms 1 to 6, but there are only 3 terms for Government funding per calendar year for Autumn, Spring and Summer, please see below:
Terms 1 & 2 – September to December (Autumn Term)
Term 3 & 4 – January to April (Spring Term)
Term 5 & 6 – April to July (Summer Term)
We take new children on board at the beginning of each Government Term so September, January and April. We take 2 year olds the term after their birth date, so for example, if a 2 year old is born on 15th September they will not be able to start with us until January and this is also when they maybe eligible for 2 year old funding. For funding purposes, if a 3 year old is born on 15th September, they will not be eligible for 3 year old funding until the January term.
Funding
15 Hours Funding – 3 Year Old Children (the term after their third birthday)
Nursery Education Funding is available for every child the term after their third Birthday.
15 Hours Funding – 2 Year Old Children
Funding for families of 2 year olds can be applied for, and if eligible, 15 hours (sessions to be booked in advance) is funded. 15 Hours Funding – 2 Year Old Children of Working Families (from April 2024)
From April 2024 the Government is bringing in new 2 year old funding for working parents. We are delighted to inform you that we will be accepting this new funding at our preschool, and if eligible, 15 hours (sessions to be booked in advance) is funded. 30 Hours Funding – 3 & 4 year old Children (the term after their third birthday)
To be eligible for the 30 hour offer your child needs to be 3 or 4 years old (3 year olds the term after their third birthday). We will be offering a limited number of extended places for children who are entitled to the 30 hour offer, and if eligible, 30 hours (sessions to be booked in advance) is funded. You do not need to utilise the full 30 hours of funding at our preschool. Our 30 hour offer will be on a session basis (see above for session timings). Additional sessions above the 30 hours a week will be charged at our normal rates.
Criteria for 30 Hour Funding and the New Working Families of 2 Year old Funding from April 2024:
- Both parents need to earn the equivalent of 16 hours at the living wage;
- Neither parent earns more than £100,000;
- Lone parents will also be eligible subject to the above criteria
All children will still be entitled to the Universal 15 hours of nursery education (see above).
Please note that Breakfast Club and Early Start Session is not covered by the universal 15 hour funding.
